Increasing transactions through QR codes

Nepal Rastra Bank has installed QR codes in various areas to promote the digital payment system, and the number of people making payments through the code has increased.

Until last month, a small amount of payments were made through QR code, but in February, there was a transaction of Rs 340 million more.

According to the Current Economic and Financial Status Report 2077 published by the Nepal Rastra Bank, there was a turnover of Rs 343 million more in February than last January.

Last January there was a turnover of Rs 1 billion 712 million, but in February the turnover was Rs 2 billion 55 million.

Similarly, in the month of January, there were 535,790 transactions, while in February, there were 635,738 transactions.

In recent times, there has been an increase in transaction amount through Connect IPS, Mobile Banking, Internet Banking and Wallet. Compared to last month, in January alone, more than Rs. 10 billion was transacted online.

One trillion ten billion transactions through Connect IPS

According to the statistics released by the National Bank of India up to the end of January, transactions of more than one and a half billion were made through Connect IPS, Mobile Banking, Internet Banking, QR Scan and Mobile Wallet in February alone.

In January alone, there was a turnover of more than Rs. Last January, there was a turnover of more than one trillion 63.87 billion rupees. Compared to last January, there was a turnover of Rs 8 billion 176 million more in February alone.

Similarly, more than 40 billion 359 million rupees was transacted through mobile banking in January. Last January, there was a turnover of more than 38 billion 59 million rupees.

In February, 182,000 transactions were made through mobile banking. More than eight billion 88 million rupees have been transacted through internet banking. More than 10 billion 18 million rupees have been transacted through the wallet.

Last January, transactions worth Rs 9 billion 948 million were transacted through the wallet. One crore 61 lakh 4 thousand transactions have been done in a month.

Similarly, there was a turnover of Rs 93 crore 2 million from online (e-commerce) last January, and the amount has decreased in February.

Compared to last January, the e-commerce business has decreased by Rs. 28 million. In February, a turnover of Rs. 904 million was done through e-commerce. Rasas
