Microsoft announced Thursday that it would indefinitely delay reopening its headquarters in Redmond, Washington, and other US offices. As coronavirus continues to spread in the country, the company has postponed its opening hours.
The software and hardware maker announced its goal of opening the office on October 4 in early August, but has not yet set a new date for its replacement.
The decision will affect more than 130,000 Microsoft employees in the United States. The decision reflects the cautious approach of the big technology companies to bring employees back to the offices as hospitalization and deaths have increased.
“Given the uncertainty of Covid 19, we decided not to try to anticipate a new date for the full opening of our U.S. workplaces; As soon as we can, we can do it safely on the basis of public health guidance, ”Jared Spataro, vice president of Microsoft Corporate, wrote in a blog post.
The company will provide information when it is ready to welcome employees.
Other tech companies such as Amazon.com, Facebook and Google have already announced that they will recall their employees only in January 2022. Agency
